This TV/DVD looks nice (tho stand feels/looks cheap) but its programming makes using it a chore. Unlike separate DVD's, this one doesn't remember where you left off even if you put the TV to sleep, so you have to leave it on or search for the spot you left off. Same is true if you switch to TV, it forgets all about the DVD, and you have to wait through the whole copyright messages and previews all over again.

And waiting is a big part of this TV's experience. You have to wait about a minute for it to boot up - my computer is faster! And you have to wait a few seconds each time you change a channel.

The remote is very confusing - LOTS of identical buttons in a matrix. I ended up coloring some with a marker just to find PLAY and PAUSE in the field of grey buttons.

I bought this TV/DVD combo as a space saver for our RV. The controls make no sense and when I tried to watch a burnt DVD it locked the entire DVD into an "invalid entry" loop that wouldn't allow the DVD to even eject. All controls stopped functioning at this point.

After getting through to Coby customer service, I was told to check the yellow pages for a good repair shop. No technical support was offered and no options for factory service. That was the best they could offer even though the unit was six months old and had only been used 2 or 3 times.

The remote is horrendous. Buttons are hard to press, must point exactly at sensor and be super close. Bad layout on remote. Tv looks good. Sound is okay.Takes a long time to turn on and change channels.

Thought it would be easy to interface with my best Nvidia cards, but now need an adapter. R.S. wants over $30. 'expensive' for it. Looking at my other options to use as a computer monitor.

I think it works as expected for a TV. Thought it was easy to setup.

Read of complaints about the remote. It's my opinion, buttons which operate too easily will give much more accidental/false imputs, those requiring a little more effort will not always take your input. There may be a perfect, happy medium there, I don't know.

I bought this TV to replace a TV/VCR combo in preparation for digital switch.
PROS
TV has a really good receiver built in. Picked up 2 extra channels my Toshibia didn't.
Sound is way better than expected.
Is actually smaller than 13in it replaces while giving a bigger picture.
CONS
As previous review mentioned, very dark picture to start but increasing brightness fixes it quick.
No HDMI. So if you are looking for HD sources other than TV reception like a blueray - forget it. Regular DVD should go into progressive scan to get best DVD picture.
Very Light. Feels very easy to knock over.

Overall, the cons were minor compared to what I got for upgrading to this TV. Plus box comes with it's own carry handle if you buy from a store.

When viewed straight on, this TV has a clear picture and good audio. I did need to try a few antennas before I found one that worked with this TV without break up. (It is not connected to cable.) In fact it still doesn't get as many channels as another TV that I use with the same antenna. However, for the price, it is a good small TV for a small area such as the kitchen.

The Franklin BES-2150 works as advertised. Very compact and portable. After researching similar products, this seems the best in terms of portability and features. I would like the next iteration to have a manual backlite feature that I could turn on and off so I could use it in low-lite environments.

Recently purchased this set as a replacement for an old analog set we used to watch over-the-air channels, such as local news, while cooking or eating in the kitchen.

It turned out to be difficult to find a small(under 19") set to fit in the space where we needed it.

This set has turned out to be ideal. Color and clarity is excellent and it has many nice feautures that we have become used to on our larger, cable-equipped sets, such as last channel recall.

There is a slight lag on the audio portion of the signal catching up to the picture when changing channels, but it is really no big deal.

All-in-all, I would reccomend this set for anyone who needs a small TV for occasional use, rather than your "main" TV.

I love this translator. It is small but powerful. But caution, if you look some expressions like "get off", "put up" and so on, it is gonna take a long, long time to show the definition (I do not know why!). Although, if you are an English speaker, I personally don't recommend this product to you. It is intended for Spanish speakers.
